Today is my birthday, and although I’m aware that I don’t have the best looks, I still hope to receive some birthday wishes
In a cozy little village surrounded by rolling hills and lush green fields, there lived a dog named Mig. Mig wasn’t like the other dogs in the village. He had a scruffy coat, one ear that flopped down while the other stood up straight, and a crooked tail that wagged in a funny, zigzag pattern. The other dogs often teased him for his unusual appearance, calling him names and leaving him out of their games. Despite this, Mig had a heart full of love and a spirit that refused to be broken.
Today was Mig’s birthday. As he woke up, he stretched and looked at himself in the mirror. “I know I’m not as handsome as the other dogs,” he thought, “but it’s my birthday, and I still want to receive some wishes.”
Mig wandered through the village, hoping to hear a “Happy Birthday” or receive a kind pat on the head. He passed by the park where the other dogs were playing, but they didn’t even glance his way. His heart sank a little, but he kept moving forward, determined not to let their indifference ruin his special day.
As he walked along the cobblestone streets, he saw a young girl sitting on a bench, reading a book. Her name was Lily, and she was new to the village. She looked up from her book and noticed Mig standing there, looking a bit sad and hopeful.
“Hey there, little guy,” Lily said with a warm smile. “What’s your name?”
Mig’s tail wagged in its funny, zigzag way. He walked over to Lily and sat down beside her. She gently petted his scruffy fur, and Mig felt a warmth in his heart that he hadn’t felt in a long time.
“Today is my birthday,” Mig thought to himself. “Maybe she’ll be the one to make it special.”
Lily seemed to sense his thoughts. “You know, I think you’re a very special dog,” she said, continuing to pet him. “Happy Birthday, Mig. I’m so glad I met you today.”
Mig’s heart soared. It was the first time someone had wished him a happy birthday, and it made him feel like the happiest dog in the world. Lily stood up and motioned for Mig to follow her. She took him to her house, where she prepared a little birthday celebration just for him. There was a delicious bone, a cozy bed, and even a small party hat that she gently placed on his head.
“You’re not ugly, Mig,” Lily said softly as she hugged him. “You’re unique, and that’s what makes you so special.”
Mig’s tail wagged even harder, and he knew that he had found a true friend in Lily. Despite feeling different and overlooked by others, he realized that kindness and love were what truly mattered. On this birthday, Mig received the greatest gift of all—a friend who saw his inner beauty and celebrated him for who he was.
As the sun set and Mig curled up in his new bed, he felt a warmth and happiness that filled his entire being. He had learned that even in a world that often focused on appearances, there were hearts that could see beyond the surface and appreciate the true essence of who we are.
And so, Mig’s birthday turned out to be the best one yet, filled with love, kindness, and the wonderful realization that he was valued and cherished just as he was.
