Taxi Driver Discovers a Dog with a Note Inside a Bag Left Behind by a Passenger

The animal kingdom is God’s beautiful and diverse creation, just like humans and celestial bodies. Every animal, especially the ones we keep as pets, yearns for a caring and loving environment. Is it too much to ask? All beings on this planet desire love, respect, and appreciation.

Meet Dagoberto Rojas Buitrago, a taxi driver from Bogotá, Columbia. His job involves ferrying people from one place to another. So, when a man with a black bag asked to be dropped off at a mall, Dagoberto didn’t suspect anything unusual, as per The Dodo’s report.

Little did he know that this ride would change his life by adding a new member to his family.

During the journey to the mall, they engaged in casual conversation. Nothing seemed out of place until the man confessed his inability to pay for the ride. He proposed a solution – he would withdraw cash from a nearby ATM and return to settle his dues.

An unexpected movement caught his attention as Dagoberto waited for his passenger to return. The man’s bag was moving!

Initially hesitant, Dagoberto summoned the courage to open the bag the man had left behind.

“I unzipped the bag and found a dog and a note,” he shared.

The note accompanying the dog provided detailed instructions about the dog’s walk schedule, feeding times, and cleaning routine.

After discovering the dog and the note, Dagoberto patiently waited for the man’s return, but he never showed up.

“I waited for about an hour, and then I was certain he had been abandoned,” Dagoberto confessed.

Several hours later, Dagoberto decided to take the forsaken furry friend home. The dog didn’t just get a new home but also a new name.

“We didn’t have any pets at home, so I thought, ‘Why not adopt him?’” Dagoberto explained. “We named him Toby Taxista.”

A year after the incident, The Dodo reports that Dagoberto and Toby Taxista share an inseparable bond.

“He knows I return home around 10 p.m., and he waits for me,” Dagoberto said. “I open the door, and he’s already there.”
